Walking by Christmas???

First, sorry it has been a while since our last post. Will has been very busy with returning to school three mornings a week, and getting settled into his new outpatient therapy program at St. Joseph's Hospital. We were so sad to say goodbye to the team from Rehab Withouth Walls who made the transition back home easier AND helped Will improve so much.

Here is a video of Will WALKING from three weeks ago! Only a few steps without anyone hanging on, but this is huge. He is working very hard to walk on his own, if it wasn't for the "darn ataxia" he would be cruising. We have asked EVERY doctor for the magic pill to make it go aways, but they all say the same thing....time. His new doctor feels it will take 2-3 years for him to return to his "normal" self. We are seriously looking into Oxygen therapy as we have heard it has been helpful to other people who had encephalitis. Doctors say there aren't any clinical studies to guarantee it works, insurance doesn't cover it, but parents and families have alot of good things to say about it.

As you can see from the video, Will is kind of "whatever" about walking, let's get onto the next exercise. Gotta love his amazing attitude and courage.

Thanks for all your support!
