Update on William

William continues to work work work! Today he will be working with his homebound teacher, psychologist, and speech therapist. Also this week he will be visiting the eye doc to check out of there has been any changes with his eyesight. Will is also having an MRI on his brain on Friday. The results will hopefully show some reduction in the inflammation. Thankfully he will be sedated for this. Sylvia is also meeting with the school this week to work on his education plan to return to school. He will most likely return to school in December on a very limited basis - probably only a few hours a day as he will still have alot of therapy to endure. He will likely need a full time classroom aide assigned to help him at all times.

Good news - our medical insurance authorized a brand new custom wheelchair for Will. It is a much better chair and will work well in the school environment. Even when he does walk, he will still require the use of a wheelchair.

Will is still on track to walk by Christmas! We work with him alot on standing - any chance he gets, he will wheel himself into the kitchen and stand up using the counter top for support. Yesterday he spent an hour in the grocery store and had to stand up and get items off the shelf and also stand and take all the items out of the cart at the check out. His balance is improving but he does need someone to help support him.
